Retro Housewife Maternity Shoot

I've been holding on to these photos for months now. My sister and I actually took these maternity shots on New Year's Eve. Wow, has it really been that long? Time flies when you're taking care of a little human.

This shoot gave me an excuse to get all dolled up. Much needed, because at nine months pregnant, you don't often feel glamorous. So I painted my nails, threw on some rouge, and wore heels for the first time in six months.

An apron is the perfect accessory for maternity photos. It cinches at the waist and accentuates the baby bump.

Don't think I've ever worn these six inch heels outside of the house. They were an impulse buy that now spend their days in a dark corner of my closet. I must have been crazy to try to wear them pregnant, but they sure were cute for pictures.

Love this double-oven Wedgewood stove from the 1950's! Can you believe we got it for free? And it still works! Right now it's found it's place in the mancave kitchen. We had plans to take photos by the stove with cupcakes, but in true Eastin girl fashion, we did everything last minute and didn't have time. We had a New Year's party to get to after all. So my sister just snapped a few quick shots.

If you're thinking about taking maternity photos, the retro housewife look is a really great option. All you need is a cute apron and a vintage hairstyle and you can basically just pose around the house doing chores. It's a fun way to capture your pregnancy towards the end.
